Adult Spinal Deformity: An Outcomes Study (ADO)


A multi-center study enrolling patients undergoing surgical or non-operative treatment of a spinal deformity. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the natural history of adults with significant spinal deformity. It intends to examine both the incidence of symptoms and effectiveness of nonoperative and operative treatment interventions. Participation includes filling out questionnaires at clinic visits and releasing your x-ray and clinical information to be used in the database.



  • Age 18 or older
  • being treated operatively or non-operatively for scoliosis, kyphosis, or undergoing post-operative care of a previous spinal deformity surgery
  • no history of thoracic or lumbar fusion for non-operative arm
