Steven Mardjetko, MD, FAAP is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and stayed for his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Illinois Medical Center. He received expert specialty training by completing two postgraduate fellowships at Rush University, one in pediatric orthopaedics and the other in spinal deformity and reconstruction. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and pediatric orthopaedics.
Dr. Mardjetko has several academic appointments, and is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Scoliosis Research Society, where he has served on its board of directors. He is an active lecturer at many professional meetings and conferences, where he teaches the latest surgical techniques to spine surgeons world-wide.

Andrea Kramer, MD is a graduate of the University of Michigan and then Temple University School of Medicine. She did her orthopaedic surgery residency at Northwestern University, followed by a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics at Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake City. She is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society. In addition to scoliosis, Dr. Kramer sees pediatric patients with developmental orthopaedic problems, fractures, hip and knee problems, and neuromuscular disorders.
Patrick Knott, PhD, PA-C is a graduate of the University of Iowa Physician Assistant Program and has two additional post-graduate research degrees. He is a professor at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where he serves as department chair and associate dean. Marrying more than 20 years experience in orthopaedic surgery with a research and teaching background, he helps the IBJI team provide the very best care to patients and families.
Nadine Trznadel, RN, MSN, CNS, ONC is an advanced practice nurse specializing in the care of scoliosis patients. Trained at Marquette University and the Loyola University Medical Center, she has outstanding experience caring for and teaching patients and families about spine abnormalities. She is a leader in the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses, and has been an invited lecturer at national orthopaedic meetings.
Samantha Thompson is the research assistant for the practice. She is a graduate of Loyola Univeristy Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
